Research Interests:

Dr. Bayer's research primarily focuses on the use of CT for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Much of the current research uses non0invasive means to calculate fractional flow reserve utilizing CT data-sets to determine if coronary lesions are functionally significant. This encompasses more standard computational fluid dynamic models as well as machine learning or artificial intelligence (AI) approaches. Also currently some preliminary discussion about the use of AI for use in clinical decision making pathways related to heart disease.
