Advanced Imaging Core

This Core aims to provide DDRC investigators with technologies, expertise, and training for quantitative cell- and tissue-based imaging and analyses. Major applications provided by the Core include live cell super-resolution imaging of parameter-sensitive fluorophores to monitor a variety of biological processes; high resolution imaging of tissue sections for immunocytochemistry and fluorescent protein distribution; fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and Duolink to measure physical interactions between molecules; intravital microscopy to monitor critical biological parameters in living cells and animals; and high-throughput, quantitative multiplexed imaging of conventionally and immunostained specimens. 

The Core also supports DDRC investigators by providing routine morphology and staining services (including cut unstained tissue sections, hematoxylin and eosin stained sections, picrosirius red stained sections, and/or other histological stains, as needed). Finally, the Advanced Imaging Core provides hands-on training in the use of specialized microscopic equipment, which allows integration of advanced skills in imaging into DDRC members’ research portfolios.
