Shoulder pain is a common problem that results from a number of causes. There are a variety of treatment options including physical therapy, injections and surgery. Physical therapy is a critical part of successful management of shoulder disease and is usually chosen regardless of the severity of the problem. Successful therapy should be predicated on evidence-based medicine and should be a cooperative effort between the surgeon and physical therapist to ensure the patient's outcome is optimized.
