Program Highlights

• Four categorical fellowship positions per year
• ACGME accredited since 1970
• Advanced training opportunities in pediatric cardiac critical care, non-invasive imaging, heart failure/transplant, interventional cath, and electrophysiology
• US News ranked our program #4 in the nation in 2024 and in the top 4 since 2022 
• Outstanding outcomes per the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Congenital Heart Surgery Database
• Core member of the NIH/NHLBI Pediatric Heart Network since its inception in 2001.
• Adult Congenital Heart Disease Accreditation
• 29 beds (14 bed cardiac intensive care unit, 3 flex beds, 12 stepdown unit beds)
• Over 800 catheterizations, 12,000 echocardiograms, 13,000 outpatient visits and 500 surgeries performed each year
• State of the art Children’s Hospital opened in February 2020
• Track record of successful mentoring of academic pediatric cardiologists
• Structured didactic conferences, scholarly activity, and professional development opportunities
• In-house call with decreasing frequency over each year of the fellowship
