S. Zaki Yazdi, M.D.
Medical School: University of Alabama School of Medicine
Undergraduate: Birmingham - Southern College
Fun Fact: Although all of my spare time is now occupied by my adorable baby, Elliott, I have a history of questionably useless talents, including: playing the saxophone, participating in competitive table tennis as a child, baking (macarons and donuts are my specialties), and ice cream making.
Why I chose MUSC: I chose MUSC for my pediatric residency training to join a tight-knit program that was small enough that everybody knows one another, but also provided the benefits of training at the referral center for the state. I entered residency without a definite career interest, and MUSC was unique in the opportunities offered for exploration- from private practice outpatient experiences to ICU electives. With the help of incredible faculty mentors throughout my residency, I have made the decision to pursue a NICU fellowship after serving as Chief Resident.
