Susan Gearhart, M.D., MEHP is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Oncology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also serves the University as the Program Director for the Advanced Colorectal Fellowship and Chief Safety Officer for Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She joined The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2002 as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Gearhart received her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine in 1993.She completed her residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, her Research Fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care at Washington University in St. Louis, and a Colorectal Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Gearhart received her Master of Education for the Health Profession degree from Johns Hopkins School of Education.
Dr. Gearhart is a published author of more than 80 peer-reviewed publications, is a published author in numerous journals and textbook chapters. She is a sought after speaker in many surgical conferences and gastroenterology and hepatology conferences, and has presented at the ACS Annual Meeting.
