Education & Training

MUSC SCORE sponsors annual speakers for the Department of Neuroscience's Colloquium Series. This year's speaker was Heather Bradshaw, Ph.D.

MUSC’s SEEDS scholar program (formerly known as the BIRCWH Scholars Innovation Program) provides mentored research education for BIRCWH, NIDA K12, and SCORE CEC scholars around the intersection of biological sex and addiction via a variety of opportunities including a monthly didactic series and mentoring and networking opportunities. SEEDS is led by Drs. Karen Hartwell and Aimee McRae-Clark.

This SCORE-sponsored workgroup, formed in the spring of 2019, meets quarterly to discuss potential and ongoing cross-campus research collaborations in the field of sex and gender differences. The meetings include general updates from SCORE leadership on the state of sex differences research at institutional, community and national levels, featured presentations from various MUSC department faculty concerning their ongoing sex differences research, and a chance for meeting attendees to network with their peers.

Next meeting: TBD
