Internal Funding Opportunities

The MUSC College of Medicine offers internal funding opportunities to help researchers advance their work at every stage of their careers.

Bridge Funding

A primary goal of the College of Medicine is to support and strengthen the research capabilities of its faculty. As part of this goal, we implemented the Bridge Funding program to support investigators with established clinical or basic research programs during periods when a competitive renewal was not funded and resubmissions of new RO1 scored but not funded or initiated by RO3, R21, or K award.

Team Science

The purpose of the Team Science program is to foster collaboration between College of Medicine scientists by supporting new research teams. This program is designed to support initial studies that have the potential to establish new funded research programs. The expected outcome from the selected team is two co-authored publications and the submission of one competitive NIH R01 (or equivalent) proposal within two years.
