Dr. Bridgewater was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and grew up in Buford, Georgia. He graduated from the University of North Georgia earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry. He attended medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Bridgewater plans to pursue a career in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is involved in quality improvement projects aiming to improve care for pulmonary hypertension patients while hospitalized. Other career interests include medical education, teaching clinical skills to students and residents, and point-of-care ultrasound.
Jerome Deas, M.D.

Dr. Deas was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He studied biology and philosophy at Francis Marion University before he completed medical school at MUSC. Dr. Deas plans to pursue a career in academic hospital medicine after his year as chief resident. He is passionate about medical education and his clinical interests include antibiotic stewardship, COPD and heart failure exacerbations, and transitions of care. His capstone project will focus on reducing admission rates for patients with obstructive lung disease and chronic respiratory failure. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Siddetra, and his son, Mason.
Natalie Dorsey, M.D.

Dr. Dorsey was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina. She graduated from the Clemson University Honors College with a degree in biological sciences and a minor in microbiology. She completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Dorsey plans to pursue a career in cardiology after her year as chief resident. She is currently involved in research regarding the relationship between amiodarone use and primary graft dysfunction following heart transplantation.
Drew Stone, M.D.

Dr. Stone grew up in Stevensville, Maryland. He attended the University of South Carolina where he obtained a degree in exercise science before completing medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. His academic interests include medical humanities and medical education. Dr. Stone plans to pursue a career in cardiology and is currently involved in clinical research in cardiac amyloidosis.
