The Administrative Core develops and directs the BRIGHT Center at MUSC, providing leadership, scientific infrastructure, mentoring, analytic expertise, and evaluation needed to support BRIGHT investigators and to advance the Center in their focus on research on populations that have experienced trauma.
In practice, the Core helps trauma-focused investigators to:
- Strengthen study design, analytic plans, and scientific rigor through quantitative and qualitative expertise
- Strengthen grant applications and scientific products
- Navigate and leverage BRIGHT resources and connect with appropriate expertise
- Advance career development, mentoring, milestones, and transition to independent funding
- Develop new trauma researchers through the Pilot Project Program (PPP)
- Track Research Project Leader (RPL) progress, Core utilization, Center outcomes, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Support Center-wide leadership, coordination, strategic planning, and sustainability
