The Dissemination and Implementation Science Core supports the development of early stage/new investigators by helping to bridge the gap between trauma research and real-world practice by designing for implementation, reach, dissemination, and sustainability.
In practice, the Core helps trauma-focused investigators to:
- Ask implementation-focused questions and incorporate implementation science aims, frameworks, measures, and methods
- Identify and test strategies to improve the adoption, implementation, reach, quality, and sustainability of trauma-related interventions
- Integrate implementation considerations earlier in intervention and trauma research development
- Apply qualitative methods within an implementation-science framework
- Plan how traumatic stress research findings will reach the scientific community, practitioners, communities, and other end users
- Develop effective dissemination strategies, messaging, and materials
- Consider economic evaluation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship when relevant
- Strengthen trauma-related implementation-focused grants, manuscripts, and future programs of research
