Involvement in quality improvement and participation in quality and safety work are important parts of all medical training.

Participation in quality improvement projects is an ACGME requirement and also part of ensuring that all trainees and patients have the best opportunity to succeed.

QI Elective

Any resident is able to participate in a two to four week QI elective. This can be tailored to their area of training.

TeamSTEPPS

Communication is at the core of the delivery of high quality and safe care. Residents will receive TeamSTEPPS training during orientation. TeamSTEPPS is also integrated into the Resident Incentive Project. More information about TeamSTEPPS can be found on the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality website.
