Being the partner of a medical resident, fellow, or intern is a unique journey. While our loved ones dedicate themselves to long hours and intense training, we navigate our own challenges — holding things down at home, supporting from the sidelines, and finding our place in a world that often feels centered around the hospital.
MUSC SASO is here for you — the spouses and significant others walking alongside these future Attendings. Whether your partner just started intern year or is finishing up fellowship, you belong here.
We’re a community built on connection, support, and shared experience. We host regular events — from casual coffee meetups and trivia nights to family-friendly outings and a book club. Some gatherings are simply for fun and relaxation, a chance to take a breath and enjoy each other’s company. Others offer space to talk about the real stuff: how to cope with your significant others crazy schedule, how to feel grounded in a new city, or even just where to get your car repaired or find the best dog park. Sometimes, it’s just comforting to talk with people who get it.
Whether you're new to Charleston, balancing a busy schedule, parenting solo during a tough rotation, or just looking for community, there’s a place for you here.
We know everyone’s situation is different, so whether you join every event or drop in when you can, you’ll always be welcome.
