The College of Medicine offers programs and initiatives to support students from varied backgrounds interested in pursuing a career in medicine, including students with disabilities, those from rural backgrounds, first-generation college students, those from disadvantaged or marginalized backgrounds, and other students interested in addressing health disparities in the communities they serve.
The hard work and efforts of the PRIME team have led to an increase in students from a wide range of groups, including 17% of students underserved in medicine.
