Medicine Exploration & Discovery Immersion on Campus (MEDIC)

Staff member teaching high school students about medical training equipment.

Program Overview

MEDIC is a full-day, immersive campus experience for high school and college students interested in becoming physicians. Hosted by the MUSC College of Medicine PRIME Division, MEDIC goes beyond a traditional campus visit by giving pre-med students an opportunity to experience some of the spaces, activities, and learning environments that are part of medical education at MUSC.

Experience Medicine at MUSC

Each visit is led by current MUSC medical students, giving participants many opportunities throughout the day to ask questions, hear about the medical student experience, and learn what the journey to medicine is really like.

MEDIC experiences are offered twice each semester during the academic year. Summer dates may also be arranged upon request for summer camps and other student programs interested in bringing a group to MUSC.

A MEDIC Experience May Include:

Healthcare Simulation Center
Surgery Simulation Lab
• Exploration with Anatomy Specimens
Gordon R. Hennigar Pathology Museum
• MUSC Campus Tour
• Lunch (provided) with MUSC College of Medicine Student Panel
• Pre-Med Advising Session
• Information about PRIME Pathway Programs
Activities may vary by visit based on availability.
