Biomedical Informatics and Data Science for Health Equity Research (SC BIDS4Health) Training Program

 

SC BIDS4Health is a training program that funded by a grant from NIH National Library of Medicine (T15 LM013977).  Building on the curricular ecosystem of the joint MUSC-Clemson Biomedical Data Science and Informatics Ph.D. program (https://www.cs.clemson.edu/bdsi/) and in cooperation with South Carolina State University, this program supports a cohort of graduate students and postdocs interested in the application of data science techniques to address health inequities.  

SC BIDS4Health provides support for up to 3 predoctoral and 2 postdoctoral (starting 2024) slots via:

  • Didactic training in biomedical informatics, biomedical data science, population health and understanding health equity;
  • Mentored experiences in implementing data science and informatics solutions that impact communities and partnering stakeholder organizations across South Carolina;
  • Experiences in teaching and mentorship of students from diverse backgrounds;
  • Skills in research development and grant writing.
