Casey Jenkins spotlight

Today, we want to recognize Casey Jenkins, MHA, fellowship coordinator, in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. Casey is known for her diligent and professional work ethic. Casey is credited for the Division's successful and smooth fellowship interview season. She successfully navigated a completely remote interview season. She is a vital part of Hematology/Oncology's administrative team, and we are proud to have Casey in the Department of Medicine!

Exceptional organizational and communication skills

"Casey started with the Hematology/Oncology division about 3 weeks before we were sent to work from home due to COVID-19. Even though most of her training and interaction with the division has been done remotely, Casey has done a tremendous job and adapted to her new conditions. This fall is the first time Casey has handled fellowship interviews and all interviews were done via zoom due to COVID. Casey has spent countless hours preparing for the division to have a successful interview season. She learned how to utilize zoom to allow for numerous fellow candidates and faculty to conduct interviews successfully. She conducted numerous test runs to ensure she knew the ins and outs of the software. Casey has exceptional organizational and communication skills which were put to the test during interview season. The feedback we have gotten from the faculty after the sessions has been extremely good. I am proud that the potential fellow's first contact with MUSC is with Casey as she is a very professional and composed individual."- Lee Putney, MHA

Extremely thorough, well-rounded, and diligent

"To whom it may concern: My name is Gregory Haidemenos and I'm currently the chief fellow with a Hematology Oncology fellowship here at MUSC. I would like to nominate Casey Jenkins, our program coordinator, for Employee of the Quarter. After recently finishing her undergraduate and graduate studies, Casey has taken on a busy role with our hematology and oncology fellowship. Over the past three-four months, she's been working extremely closely with our faculty members and our fellows in establishing an open conversation about our training program, assisting with our schedules in appropriate licensing, and other diligent duties with our fellowship program. Specifically, she has remained extremely pleasant, open to any questions or concerns, and is extremely warm and welcoming. There has been significant flux within our department over the past few months as well and she's been assisting with the needs of our new first-year fellows and a handful of new faculty members. Her work has been extremely thorough, well-rounded, and she remains diligent. She has always expressed personal concern about the well-being of our colleagues as well. I recommend her without reservation for employee of the quarter and appreciate your consideration."- Gregory Haidemenos, M.D.
