Application Process
Candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must be board certified in Pulmonary Medicine and board eligible in Critical Care Medicine. Applications are accepted through the Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship Application Service (IPFAS).
Applicants are selected exclusively through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All candidates must register through Specialties Matching Service (SMS). To register go to: National Resident Matching Program. We offer one matched position annually.
We accept candidates who are US citizens, permanent residents (green card), or on J1 visas.
The Fellowship Selection Committee reviews completed fellowship application packets which include:
- Application
- CV
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from your Pulmonary fellowship director
All application materials, including supporting letters, must be received before an individual’s application review commences.
Applicants will be invited for formal interviews based on a holistic review process that assesses applicants’ potential for a career in Interventional Pulmonology. Qualities and values sought in applicants include outstanding academic achievement, well-developed clinical and leadership skills, professionalism, and collegiality during their previous training. The fellowship training program values a range of experiences and encourages applicants from various backgrounds.
