Welcome to the OB/GYN Residency Program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC!

Our mission is to train skilled obstetrician-gynecologists in the delivery of high quality, patient-centered and innovative care to all. We offer comprehensive training in general obstetrics and gynecology, with significant sub-specialty experience. Graduates of our residency program pursue sub-specialty training (fellowship) as well as careers as academic specialists and private practice OB/GYNs.

In additional to a robust clinical and surgical education, our residents participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, M&M conference, Journal Club, and simulation. Resident well-being is supported by our mentorship and wellness programs and a collegial learning environment. The ideal candidate for our program values teamwork, empathy, and graduated autonomy; has demonstrated resilience; and possesses a growth mindset.

As program director, I love watching the progression from new, inexperienced intern to skilled chief resident who leads their team. I look forward to reviewing your application and wish you the best of luck!

Thank you for your interest in our dynamic program located in America’s best cities
