The MUSC Department of Pathology Gastrointestinal & Hepatic Pathology Section is staffed by two pathology faculty members both board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology with fellowship training in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology. The Medical University of South Carolina Surgical Pathology Laboratory examines approximately 11,000 Gastrointestinal surgical pathology accessions and 1100 Liver surgical pathology accessions per year. There is one gastrointestinal/ surgical pathology fellow each year. Applications for fellowship are accepted 22 months prior to fellowship start date.
