Family Systems Theory with a BIPOC Lens | On-Demand Coming Soon

Family Systems Theory, when viewed through a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) lens, takes into account the unique cultural and historical contexts that influence the dynamics within BIPOC families. This perspective recognizes that families from different backgrounds may have distinct experiences, challenges, and strengths that are shaped by their cultural heritage and the systemic inequalities they face.
Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the intersectionality of identities within BIPOC families.
  2. Recognize the resilience and cultural strengths present within BIPOC families.
  3. Use culturally sensitive language and therapeutic practices that respect and validate the experiences of BIPOC clients.

Healing through Cultural Humility before Cultural Competence | On-Demand Coming Soon

Cultural humility is a concept and approach that encourages individuals to approach interactions and relationships with others in a way that is open, respectful, and non-judgmental, particularly when dealing with people from different cultural backgrounds. Learning Objectives:
1. Understand how to use reflective practice across cultures.
2. Cultivate and utilize cultural responsiveness in daily practice.
3. Understand how to reduce power imbalances in multi-cultural environments.
