Research

The Division of Bio-behavioral Medicine has numerous research activities within the Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with MUSC College of Medicine, and even partnership with other University’s across the country. Currently there is an ongoing trial investigating new treatments for chronic pain involving a combination of neuro-stimulation and behavioral techniques. We are also actively researching psychosocial predictors of surgical success among transplant, living kidney donors, bariatric, pancreatitis, cancer, and cardiac patients.
