Message from the Chair

As the Chair of the MUSC Department of Urology, I am excited to lead our talented, innovative, and dynamic team of clinicians, educators, and scientists who are dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care of patients with urologic conditions. Our department is at the forefront of urological care, offering a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of urologic diseases.

For cancers of the urinary tract, our surgeons partner with the Hollings Cancer Center to support patients and their families. We offer access to cutting-edge clinical trials aimed at advancing treatment options for urologic cancers.

Our Bladder & Pelvic Health Program is another cornerstone of our department, supported by the Spaulding Paolozzi Endowed Chair and NIH funding. This program is nationally recognized for its treatment and research in urinary incontinence, neurourology, pelvic floor disorders, and genitourinary reconstruction.

Our Men’s Health Program, led by a fellowship-trained specialist in andrology and male infertility, provides expert care for erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and male infertility, including vasectomy reversals.

We are also proud to offer specialized care for pediatric patients, including those with neurogenic and non-neurogenic voiding dysfunction, undescended testicle, hypospadias, and reflux as well as major reconstructive surgery for congenital urological anomalies. The Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that enables us to provide the highest level of care to children and their families.

In addition to our clinical services, we offer a robust residency program that is a cornerstone of our academic mission. We also offer fellowships in urologic oncology and bladder and pelvic health. Our team is dedicated to providing world-class education and training to the next generation of urologic surgeons, ensuring the continued advancement of urological care.

Thank you for visiting our website. Whether you are seeking expert care, innovative treatment options, or advanced research opportunities, we are here to support you on your journey to better urological health.
