Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Fellows: 2024-2025
Jon Handy, MD- Dr. Handy is an ACTA Fellow at MUSC during the 24-25 academic year. He is coming from Indianapolis, IN, with his wife, Anna, their son, Ellison, and their Labs, Gus and Zoa. He completed medical school and residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. In their free time, they love to exercise, explore the city on foot, and try new local restaurants. They are looking forward to a year in Charleston!
Paul Shanahan, MD
Ryan Valk, MD- Dr. Valk is one of the incoming CT fellows. He is originally from Wisconsin and completed his residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle. He and his wife couldn't be more excited to be moving to Charleston and to be joining the MUSC family. In their free time, they love to get outdoors, golf, spend time at the beach, and check out the local dog park scene. They also have a little guy on the way who is due in mid-September!
