Critical Care Anesthesia Fellows: 2022-2023

FioriniJennifer Fiorini, MD - Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Fiorini moved to South Carolina to attend college at Winthrop University and then on to Charleston for medical school. She stayed at MUSC for surgical residency and practiced general surgery and breast surgical oncology in the Charleston community for 13 years before spending two years as the medical director of a biotech startup. With regrets for the loss of well-rounded clinical skills due to her progressive specialization, she is seeking additional training at this mid-career pivot point and states she feels incredibly fortunate for the opportunity to return “home” to MUSC to broaden her knowledge and experience with a critical care fellowship.

FordTim Ford, MD - Born outside of Los Angeles, California, Dr. Ford has lived in multiple states across the country including Vermont, Wisconsin, Colorado, Virginia, and now, South Carolina. He completed his undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, earning Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees with Honors. He subsequently worked in the financial sector of Angel Investing in the Aspen, Colorado area before attending medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. During his time at Georgetown, he met his wife, Heidi, who braved the cold winters of Wisconsin for his Anesthesiology residency training. Heidi is very happy that they have moved to a warmer climate for his fellowship in Critical Care Anesthesiology here at MUSC! Dr. Ford's clinical interests include critical care of complex medical and surgical patients, specifically utilizing the application of machine learning algorithms and natural language processing to develop prediction models to further augment care in a data-driven evidenced-based approach. When not at the hospital, Tim and his wife enjoy traveling, exploring Charleston, and playing with their tuxedo cat, Felix!
