Chief Residents 

BagnalNolan Bagnal, MD- Dr. Bagnal grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Bioengineering. He then went to medical school here at MUSC. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, bike riding, running, and board games.

LangleyFarris Langley, MD- Dr. Langley was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Hilton Head, SC. She completed her BS in Biology at the College of Charleston and earned her medical degree at MUSC. Charleston has become her home and she is looking forward to officially beginning my anesthesiology training this year! When she's not in the hospital, she loves to try all of the new restaurants in Charleston, goes to the beach, works out, and spends time with her husband,

OsbornDavis Osborn, MD- Dr. Osborn is originally from Greenville, SC. He graduated from Clemson University in 2017 with a major in Microbiology followed by his medical degree at MUSC. When he is not at work, you can find him on the water in search of the next big catch. 


CA-3s 

Dylan Bieber, MD - Dr. Bieber was raised in Brooklyn, MI where he attended high school. He completed his undergraduate degree in human biology at Michigan State University. He worked as a microbiology research assistant and medical scribe while participating in volunteer and mission work for two years before applying to medical school. He obtained his MD at Indiana University School of Medicine as a member of the rural health medical education track. He and his fiancé Meghan live in Mount Pleasant and can be found exploring Charleston, trying new restaurants and breweries, or enjoying different beaches when they aren't working. They're hoping to celebrate their wedding in the fall of 2023!

Ryan Campbell, MD - Dr. Campbell was born in Connecticut and raised in Batesburg-Leesville, SC until 2001 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Kuwait and Haiti prior to attending flight school, eventually becoming an AH-64D Apache Longbow Pilot-in-Command, Aviation Safety Officer, and Air Mission Commander of multi-aircraft operations with two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After leaving service in 2012, he attended USC Columbia for undergraduate and medical school (despite being a Clemson fan). He lives on John’s Island with his wife, Leslie, and three children, Ella, Millie, and Jack. He enjoys anything outdoors, especially kayaking, great BBQ, and attending Clemson football games.

Matt Holt, MD - Dr. Holt was born in Virginia and raised in Conway, SC where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at Coastal Carolina University. After college, he worked as a scribe for a local community hospital and traveled on medical mission trips throughout Latin America before continuing on to complete his medical degree at MUSC. He enjoyed life in Charleston so much that he decided to stay at MUSC for his anesthesia residency training. Some of his favorite hobbies include surfing, golfing, and playing music.

Will Irick, MD - Dr. Irick was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC after which he went to Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC where he majored in Biology and sang in the PC choir. He move to Charleston in 2016 and received a master of medical science from MUSC before going on to medical school also at MUSC. He and his wife Margaret enjoy traveling to the mountains and watching Formula 1.

Jake Jarecke, MD - Dr. Jarecke was born and raised in a small town in Nebraska, and then eventually went on to undergrad and medical school at the University of Nebraska as a proud Cornhusker. He met his wife, Emma, there and they decided to trade cornfields for the beach, although they'd never been to Charleston prior to moving here. They live on James Island with their yellow lab and two cats and spend most of their free time doing outdoor activities or trying local breweries. 

Matt Lebow, MD - Dr. Lebow was born and raised in Los Angeles. He attended George Washington University in Washington, DC where he majored in Political Communication. Matt then lived in NYC for several years working as a bartender before moving to Burlington, Vermont for medical school. He enjoys all things outdoors, LA sports teams as well as exploring Charleston’s food/bev scene.

Josh Muccitelli, MD - Dr. Muccitelli is a Charleston native having grown up on Isle of Palms and attended Wando High School (2010) and Charleston Southern (2013- BS Biochemistry). He worked in hospice/palliative care for 3 years before attending USC SOM Greenville. He loves being back in Charleston! Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his friends, fishing/shrimping, sailing with CORA, and he's restoring a '98 Melex golf cart in his spare time. 

Taylor Ouellette, DO - Dr. Ouellette was born and raised in Maine, completing her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Maine and her medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys practicing hot yoga, baking, and bringing her pups Franklin and Scarlet to the beach.

Patrick Saad, DO - Dr. Saad was born in New York and raised in Georgia, before he and his family packed their bags for beautiful and sunny Tampa, Florida. In Tampa, he completed his undergrad at the University of South Florida and his medical school training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine - Bradenton. When he's not at the hospital, he loves traveling, attending concerts, weightlifting, snowboarding, and ice hockey. 

Robert Shebiro, DO - Dr. Shebiro was born in New York City and raised in Long Island, NY before attending Binghamton University where he earned a degree in Financial Economics. He then worked for 7 years as an options and equities trader before ultimately deciding to enter the field of medicine. He went on to complete the post-bacc pre-health program at New York University. He then moved to Raleigh, NC to complete medical school at Campbell University. Robbie lives on Johns Island with his wife Gabrielle (ortho spine PA at MUSC), their daughter Hailey (1-year-old), and yellow lab Cooper (4 years old).

Matthew Stumme, DO - Dr. Stumme was born and raised in Orange County, CA. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. He then traded the beach for the mountains and completed his medical degree at Rocky Vista University in Colorado. His residency journey began at Oak Hill Hospital in Tampa and now is here in the beautiful city of Charleston. In his free time, he enjoys surfing, rock climbing, and enjoying the food and drink scene with his cool new classmates.

Richard Uhlenhopp, MD - Dr. Uhlenhopp grew up on a farm in Iowa and after a wonderful childhood around airplanes and football, He went to Iowa State University and studied microbial genetics. He then moved to that college out east (U of Iowa) for med school. In between, he spent a little time in East Asia. Since moving to Charleston he has been trying to experience some non-midwestern things like sailing and beach volleyball. He has also started to love cooking and is excited to cook for new friends after he moves into a house with my wife. 

Molli Walker, MD - Dr. Walker was originally from Augusta, GA, but Charleston has become home. She studied biology and business at College of Charleston, and then worked in family medicine at Roper and helped her husband open a wine shop before attending medical school at MUSC. Outside of work, she has a complicated relationship with two mini doodles and loves hiking, game nights, yoga, and anything outdoors.

Wilson

Harper Wilson, MD - Dr. Wilson was born and raised in Winston Salem, NC. He earned degrees in Molecular Biology and Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University and did research in the Lineberger Cancer Center at UNC before receiving his MD back in his hometown at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He lives in West Ashley with his wife Holli, dogs Luna and Griffin, and cat Sir Purr, and he enjoys woodworking, Formula 1 racing, and anything dog-related.

 

CA-2s

Alex Berghorst, DO - Dr. Berghorst was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. He received his bachelor's degree in nutrition from Arizona State University before moving to Colorado and earning his medical degree at Rocky Vista University. Prior to traveling to Charleston for his anesthesia training, he completed a general surgery prelim year at the University of Kentucky. He enjoys board games, volleyball, and rock climbing in his free time. And whenever he is able, you can catch him attending as many concerts and music festivals as possible. 

Harris Burton, MD - Dr. Burton was born in Rome, GA, and attended the University of Georgia for undergrad. Go Dawgs! He then went to medical school in Savannah, GA before moving to the sister city of Charleston for residency. In his free time, he enjoys going to the beach, checking out the food and brewery scene, and talking about the Dawgs!

Daniel Couper, MD - Growing up, Dr. Couper spent time on both the East and West coasts, but he considers himself a native South Carolinian. He chose anesthesiology because he loves physiology in action, and he chose the MUSC program because he loves Charleston and loves how close the residents are to one another. In his free time away from the hospital, he enjoys exercising, vintage shopping, playing guitar, hiking, and cooking healthy food.

Brenden Drerup, MD - Dr. Drerup grew up in the small town of Ottawa, Ohio, before receiving his undergrad degree in Biology from Ohio Dominican University. He obtained his MD at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, before then coming to the Lowcountry for residency. In his free time, he and his wife, Jen, love visiting local breweries, relaxing on the beautiful nearby beaches, watching football (Go Browns), golfing, and checking out dog parks with their pup named Pickle.

Madison Geating, MD - Dr. Geating grew up in Dacusville, SC, and earned her BS degree in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina. After graduating college, she moved to Charleston and worked at MUSC as a patient care technician for two years before attending the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new recipes from Half Baked Harvest, watching Eagles football with her husband, and playing with her two dogs (Remi and Beau). 

Drew Gianos, MD - Dr. Gianos was born and raised in Clinton, NJ. He attended Clemson University for his undergraduate degree in Biology and completed medical school at MUSC. Outside of medicine, he enjoys golf, the outdoors, exercising, and discovering new music. He lives on James Island with his fiancé, Nicole, and their sixteen houseplants. 

River Hames, MD - Dr. Hames was born in Alabama and raised in Morgantown, WV. He went to WVU for undergraduate and medical school. He bleeds blue & gold as a mountaineer fan, but he is willing to become a Georgia fan for tailgating purposes. He enjoys golfing, fishing, and traveling with his wife Maria. They are new to Charleston and excited to explore the beaches, restaurants, and breweries!

Austin Hogan, MD - Dr. Hogan was born and raised in a small town in southern Kentucky, located near Mammoth Cave National Park. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Kentucky and obtained his medical degree from the University of Louisville. And yes, before you ask, he does indeed bleed blue! He completed a preliminary year in general surgery in Cincinnati, Ohio before making his way to beautiful Charleston for his anesthesiology training. When not at work you can catch him lounging by the pool or at the beach, enjoying a good book, binging the latest cooking show or planning the next trivia night at a local brewery! 

Tyler Kalajian, MD - Dr. Kalajian was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston and received his bachelor's, master's, and medical degrees from Boston University. Although it sounds like he belongs in the snow, you can always find him at the beach. When he's not beaching (or working), he is either working on medical illustrations or learning how to master gluten-free baking. Go Patriots! 

Remi Kessler, MD - Dr. Kessler is from Manhattan Beach, CA, and went to college at Johns Hopkins University. She then attended medical school at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors on the water, playing pickleball, gardening, and trying Charleston's local restaurants. 

Zach Lee, MD - Zach was born in Philadelphia but raised in North Carolina (Winston-Salem and Chapel Hill). He studied chemistry and economics at the University of North Carolina and stayed there 4 more years for medical school. Go Heels! He enjoys college sports, Formula 1, nature walks, bar trivia, and asking people if they want to go to happy hours. He lives on the peninsula and is looking forward to exploring the endless food, scenery, and fun that Charleston has to offer!

RiceRachel Liedberg, DO - Dr. Rice was born in Lakeville, Minnesota, and moved to Atlanta when she was 15. She completed her BS in Biology at Georgia College and earned her medical degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn (War Eagle!). She loves exploring Charleston in her free time, whether it be hanging out on the beach or trying out different breweries and restaurants.

Ben Maxner, MD - Dr. Maxner was born and raised in Beverly, MA, just north of Boston. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Human Physiology followed by medical school at the University of Massachusetts. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys going to the beach, trying all of the fantastic breweries in Charleston, and rooting for every Boston sports team. 

Gunnar Nemitz, MD - Dr. Nemitz is originally from Monticello, Minnesota. He completed his undergraduate degree and medical school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Before medical school, he worked road construction in the summers. For fun, he enjoys traveling, playing basketball, fishing, lake sports, and exploring his new home of Charleston. He will also be getting married in 2023!

Michael Reynolds, MD - Dr. Reynolds was born and raised in Charleston, SC, and attended Furman University where he majored in Mathematics-Economics. He went to MUSC for medical school. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, fishing, and watching football.

Caroline Schlee, MD - Dr. Schlee was born and raised in a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland. She received her BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of South Carolina and attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore for medical school. She is excited to be back in SC to further explore Charleston while continuing her training. In her free time, you will find her at the beach, watching her pup socialize at the dog park, or learning about and singing new musicals. 

Olivia Waldthausen, MD - Dr. Waldthausen was born and raised in Summerville, SC, and went to the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) for undergrad where she majored in Biomedical Engineering. She stayed in Columbia for medical school at USC and then was thrilled to have the opportunity to move home to complete her residency at MUSC. She and her husband live on Johns Island and you can find them hanging out at the beach, trying new restaurants in Charleston, or at the dog park with their yellow lab Trooper.

 

Interns

Matt Barfield, MD - Dr. Barfield is a South Carolina native, born and raised in Myrtle Beach. He attended USC, where he received a degree in Biomedical Engineering, then served as an EMT with Richland County EMS for two years before attending medical school at USC Columbia. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing golf, being out on the water, and exploring restaurants and breweries with his wife and dog. 

Nikke Bowerman, MD - Dr. Bowerman was born and raised in Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Biochemistry before completing her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch. In her free time, she loves walking the beach, finding new restaurants and coffee shops, and exploring all Charleston has to offer with her husband and two dogs, Biscuit and Winnie. 

Joel Brenny, MD - Dr. Brenny has lived in many places - Kentucky, China, Virginia, and Alabama, but is excited to call South Carolina "home." After attending UAB for medical school, he was attracted to MUSC's anesthesiology program as well as the beautiful beaches. When not working, Dr. Brenny enjoys running, reading (huge C.S. Lewis fan!), and spending time with his wife exploring their new home of Mount Pleasant. 

Brian Bumpous, MD - Dr. Bumpous was born and raised in Oil Trough, Arkansas. Growing up, he spent most of his time on the farm watering rice and wanted to study agricultural science, but eventually decided that medicine was his true calling. He studied Biochemistry at Lyon College and attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Outside of work, you can usually find him listening to Beyoncé, taking care of his houseplants, trying new breweries, or hanging out with his toy poodle, Ella. 

Corey Carney, MD - Dr. Carney was born and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, and attended USC for the majority of his undergraduate education but ended up graduating at home at West Chester University with a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He then worked in biotech while earning his MS in Biochemistry from Tulane before attending medical school at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Rochester, Michigan. He couples-matched at MUSC with his fiancé Dr. Christeena Twal (Emergency Medicine). They both love exploring the restaurants around Charleston, soaking up the sun at Sullivan's Island, or hitting the water for some wakeboarding or fishing. Dr. Carney is an avid sports fan and a diehard Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles fan. 

Stephanie Chavez, DO - Dr. Chavez was born in Chicago and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Florida Gulf Coast University and attended medical school at LECOM-Bradenton. In her free time, she enjoys baking, relaxing on the beach, playing tennis, and practicing yoga. She is so excited to move to beautiful Charleston for residency and explore everything her new home has to offer!

Harrison Gaines, MD - Dr. Gaines was born in Virginia and grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Microbiology. He then attended MUSC for medical school. In his free time, he enjoys Georgia sports, playing basketball, and anything outdoors. 

John Goldin, MD - Dr. Goldin grew up in Rome, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia for undergrad. He then obtained his MD from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. In his free time, he enjoys getting outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and playing golf. 

Riley Graham, MD
- Dr. Graham is a Charleston native and grew up on the beaches of Isle of Palms. She attended Clemson University (BS Psychology, 2018) and came back to Charleston for medical school at MUSC. She loves spending time with her husband, Walt, and their American Foxhound, Maggie, normally at a local brewery. In her free time, she loves to find live music, listen to true crime podcasts, or go on the boat with friends and family. 

Zach Harper, MD - Dr. Harper grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, though much of his family calls South Carolina home. As an undergrad, he studied Neuroscience prior to attending Michigan State for medical school. He is excited to have (finally) moved south for residency alongside his wife, Christina. In their spare time, they enjoy adventuring with their dog, Milo, golfing, and traveling. 

Chase McClendon, MD - Dr. McClendon is from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He is a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks and his Oklahoma Sooners. In his free time, he likes to play jazz piano, read, and try new restaurants with his wife, Hannah.

 

Luke Mills, MD - Dr. Mills was born and raised in Conway, South Carolina. Growing up, he loved to be on the water either wakeboarding or hanging out with friends on the beach. He aspired to follow in his dad's footsteps and attend The Citadel here in Charleston. During that time, he fell in love with Charleston and knew it was somewhere he wanted to be long-term. This is one of the many reasons he chose to do his residency at MUSC. During his free time, he loves to be on the boat, exercising, or trying one of the incredible restaurants this city has to offer. 

Jaimie Navid, MD - Dr. Navid was born in California and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She went to Washington University in St. Louis for college and Loyola University in Chicago from medical school. She now lives on Johns Island with her husband, Eric, and two rescue pups, Leila and Fred. In her free time, she loves reading, relaxing on the beach, and spending time outdoors. 

Max Rubin, DO - Dr. Rubin was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Colorado (Go Buffs!) where he studied Physiology and Business. He attended medical school at Midwestern University in Phoenix, AZ. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, fishing, exploring local breweries, cheering on Denver sports, and going to the beach with his wife and their golden retriever and yellow lab. 

Brent Russell, MD - Dr. Russell was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, graduated from William & Mary in Virginia with a B.S. in Neuroscience and Biochemistry, and then returned to Memphis to attend the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for medical school. He moved to Charleston for residency with his incredible wife Kianna who works as a physical therapist and their cuddly pup, Misty. In his free time, he enjoys cooking for his wife and guests (and reverting to a cheese quesadilla-based diet if it's just him), rock climbing, hobby painting, and otherwise spending time with his family. 

Lizzy Whiteside, MD - Dr. Whiteside was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She attended Wofford College (Go Terriers!) where she received a degree in Biology. She then returned to Greenville for medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. In her free time, you can find her reading on the beach, working out in a barre class, or chasing her stubborn hound, Elwood, around the local dog parks. 

Mikaela Woods, MD - Dr. Woods was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. She bleeds orange and completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!). She completed her medical degree at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine. In her free time, you can find Mikaela hanging out on the beach, exploring local restaurants/breweries, exercising at Orange Theory, and attending/watching all things Tennessee Sports. 

Jordan Wordekemper, DO - Dr. Wordekemper was born and raised in North Platte, Nebraska. From a young age, he immersed himself in the world of sports, particularly football and track. He pursued his undergraduate degree in Biological Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before embarking on his medical education at VCOM-Auburn. Embracing an active lifestyle, he finds joy in various physical activities such as rock climbing, road biking, working out, hot yoga, and hiking. Driven by his passion for food, he spends his free time honing his culinary skills, whether it's smoking ribs and brisket or baking various items such as sourdough bread, Neapolitan pizzas, or cruffins. 

Interns

Amar Alnemer, MD- Dr. Alnemer was born in Syria and raised in Columbus, OH. He completed both college and medical school at Ohio State University. When not at work, he enjoys spending quality time and traveling with his fiancé and co-resident Jo. He also loves watching OSU Football, playing soccer, going to the gym, and listening to rap. 

Sevanna Boleman, MD- Dr. Boleman is from Barnwell, SC. She studied Genetics at Clemson University before attending medical school at MUSC. In her free time, you can find her reading, walking around Charleston, listening to Taylor Swift, or going on the boat with her family and friends. 

Boone Coleman, MD- Dr. Coleman is a born and raised Texan. He and his wife, Hailey, enjoy getting out to play golf and tennis. His hobbies are playing electric guitar, piano, and just making music. After residency, he is interested in pursing fellowship training in Critical Care.

Josh deGuzman, MD- Dr. deGuzman is a SC native, born in Greenville and raised in Spartanburg. He attended Clemson University for undergrad with a degree in Health Science (Go Tigers!) and completed medical school at USC Columbia (Go Tigers still). Prior to beginning med school, he was an anesthesia technician here at MUSC and he couldn’t be more stoked to be back for residency. Outside of work, you can find him out on the water fishing, on the golf course/soccer pitch, cheering on the Tigers in Death Valley, or listening to live music at a brewery. 

Joanne Du, MD- Dr. Du was born and raised in Rochester Hills, MI. Growing up, she spent her summers visiting family in Taipei, Taiwan. She attended the Ohio State University for her undergraduate studies and stayed to attend medical school, where she met her fiancé, Amar. In her free time, you can find her with her digital camera, trying new restaurants, listening to Mac Miller, cheering on the Detroit Lions, and having picnics on the beach.

Sydney Greenlaw, MD- Dr. Greenlaw was born and raised in Alpharetta, GA, which is just outside of Atlanta. She attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) where she received a degree in biology and completed her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. In her free time, she enjoys watching cooking shows, listening to true crime podcasts, traveling, and going to watch the Braves (or any ATL team)!

Andrew Groneck, MD- Dr. Groneck will be joining the MUSC Anesthesiology Residency from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in his home state of Missouri. He will be coming to Charleston with his wife, Madeleine, and they could not be more excited! They are both graduates of the University of Mississippi and will be cheering on their Rebels, even though they will be in enemy territory. In his free time, Dr. Groneck enjoys fishing, cooking, detailing cars, and golfing. 

Grace Hartmann, MD- Dr. Hartmann was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended undergrad at the University of California Santa Barbara and medical school at the University of Kansas. In her free time, she enjoys baking, watching football (Go Chiefs!), and spending time outdoors. 

Rick Killeen, MD- Dr. Killeen is originally from Louisville, KY. He went to the University of Louisville for medical school and then did a year of Surgery in Chattanooga, TN. In his free time, he loves doing anything outdoors with his dog and wife. He also loves to golf, play pickleball, and cook.

Chase Kunich, MD- Dr. Kunich was raised in the small town of Ridgeland, SC, before attending USC-Columbia for undergraduate studies in Biology. He earned his medical degree from MUSC. Outside of work, he likes to spend his time at the gym, the Breech Inlet on Isle of Palms, or Brittlebank Park to watch the sunset with my fiancée. He also enjoys playing with his dog, Honey, and attending concerts in the Charleston area. 

Jocelyn Matheson, MD- Dr. Matheson grew up in Nashville, TN before attending The University of Alabama for her undergraduate studies (Roll Tide!). Having loved Alabama so much, she decided to stay for a few years, splitting her time between the healthcare field and other ventures in programming. She later moved to Memphis for medical school at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Matheson enjoys spending time with her husband and family, cooking at home, and any outdoor activity, particularly bass fishing. She and her husband took advantage of living near Lake Frances in Charleston and will plan to enjoy fishing as often as possible. 

Breanna Orcutt, DO- Dr. Orcutt was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She completed her BA and MA in Medicine, Health, and Society at Vanderbilt University, and earned her medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She currently lives on Johns Island with her husband and loves exploring Charleston in their free time, whether it be going to the beach or trying new restaurants. 

Cooper Pitts, MD- Dr. Pitts was born in Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Charleston, SC. He attended Virginia Tech for undergrad where he studied Chemical Engineering. After his 4 years in Blacksburg, VA, he came back to Charleston for medical school at MUSC. In his free time, you can find him either at the beach or on the boat with his golden retriever who is the definition of a water dog. He also loves trying all of the new restaurants and happy hours that continuously pop up in Charleston. 

Ladd Platt, MD- Dr. Platt was born in Arkansas and raised in Columbia, SC. He attended USC where he studied Public Health and Piano Performance, and then attended MUSC for medical school. In their free time, Ladd and his wife, Julia, enjoy working out at CrossFit to make room for many Iggy’s Pizza Shop and Home Team nachos trips. They also enjoy going to live music, relaxing on Sullivan’s Island, exploring downtown Charleston, cooking meals, and playing various board games, such as Parcheesi and Catan. 

Paul Reichert, MD- Dr. Reichert was born and raised in Kettering, OH. He attended Ohio State University and graduated in 2009 with a BA in Zoology. After graduation, he worked for a time in the tool & die industry before returning to school to become a registered nurse. Shortly after earning his nursing degree, he commissioned in the US Air Force. Paul spent the next 6 years on active duty, stationed at Keesler AFB, MS; Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar; and Royal Air Force Lakenhealth, UK. Paul met his spouse, Jen, an active-duty USAF RN as well, while stationed at Keesler AFB. Together, they have a 16-month-old daughter, Rosalie. Dr. Reichert attended Dartmouth for medical school. He enjoys participating in and watching sports, cooking, and hiking with Jen, Rosie, and their dog, Nana. 

Brenna Sanders, MD- Dr. Sanders is originally from Columbia, LA, and attended both college and medical school at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!). She trained for two years with the MUSC Internal Medicine department before transitioning to anesthesiology. Outside of work, she is usually spending time with her husband, Ben, and daughter, Lane. She enjoys being outdoors, exercising, playing pickleball and golf, and gardening. 

Michael Schuller, DO- Dr. Schuller is a trilingual, first-generation American born in St. Petersburg, FL. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa before completing medical school at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri and clinical rotations in Detroit, MI. He has prior medical experience as a transporter, patient care tech, and cardiac telemetry tech. Dr. Schuller is most excited about the transplant and cardiac anesthesia opportunities at MUSC, and he is interested in cardiothoracic and critical care fellowships. Michael and his wife, Hannah, live in downtown Charleston and enjoy fitness, sports, gaming, and the beach. 

Colton Southard-Goebel, MD- Dr. Southard-Goebel is from Fort Wayne, IN, attended Wheaton College in Illinois as an undergraduate and Indiana University for medical school. Colton enjoys pickleball, all forms of games, watching movies, meeting new friends, and spending time with his wife, Anah, and their 2 dogs and cats, Winnie, Milo, Kai, and Lunchbox at their home in West Ashley.
