About

The MUSC Stroke Program is a division within the Department of Neurology. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art, comprehensive stroke treatment, train the next generation of leaders in Stroke, and advance the care of stroke patients through cutting-edge research.

The vision of the Stroke Program is to:

  • Continue to develop a highly efficient comprehensive stroke center that leads the region in acute stroke care and secondary prevention.
  • Expand our internationally recognized center for MUSC-based collaborative stroke research focused on prevention and recovery.
  • Develop an internationally recognized center for stroke training and stroke research education.

These goals are accomplished by the MUSC Stroke Research and Education Center, the MUSC Comprehensive Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, the MUSC Telestroke Program, and by collaboration with other MUSC programs, such as Stroke: Rehabilitation Research and the Center for Biomedical Imaging.
