Chief Residents

Dr. Bethany Bruno

Bethany Bruno, M.D. grew up in Richmon, VA. She went to medical school at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and was drawn to MUSC by the fellow residents and their dedication to each other's wellbeing. When she graduates, she plans to go into private practice and also continue her education, with Bioethics as a special area of interest. In her free time, she enjoys jogging, baking, gardening and vacations.

Dr. Matt Cincotta

Matthew Cincotta, M.D. grew up in Charlotte, NC. He went to medical school at Marshall University and was drawn to MUSC by the faculty and fellow residents. When he graduates, he plans to go into private practice as a generalist and also continue his education. In his free time, he enjoys golf, playing drums, long boarding and going to the beach.

Dr. Hannah Hayward

Hannah Hayward, M.D. grew up in Tallahassee, FL. She went to medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine and was initially drawn to MUSC by to the surgical volume and the beachside location, but the people are what really sold her. When she graduates, she plans to apply to Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology fellowships. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering.

Dr. Katie Martin

Kathryn Martin, M.D. grew up in Warner Robins, GA. She went to medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and was drawn to MUSC by the faculty and fellow residents. She wants to be a great surgeon and when she graduates, she plans to go into private practice and eventually academia. In her free time, she enjoys listening to podcasts, going to the beach and going to restaurants.

Dr. Nina Mascia

Nicolina Mascia, M.D. grew up in Raleigh, NC. She went to medical school at Dartmouth University and was drawn to MUSC by the fellow residents. She plans to apply to a Gynecology Oncology Fellowship and eventually into academia teaching medical students and residents. In her free time, she enjoys barre classes, the beach restaurants and house projects with her husband.

Dr. Michael Batres

Michael Batres, M.D. grew up in Charlotte, NC. He went to medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was drawn to MUSC because he feels it is where patients are best served, and he would benefit the most in developing his knowledge and skills. When he graduates, he plans to go into private practice and also continue his education. In his free time, he enjoys disc golf, hanging out with his dog, Jojo, and going to the beach.

Dr. Hannah Conley

Hannah Conley, M.D. grew up in Raleigh, NC. She went to medical school at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and was drawn to MUSC by her fellow residents and the beach. When she graduates, she plans to go into private practice as a generalist. In her free time, she enjoys taking care of horses and hopes to have her own horse farm one day.

Dr. Faith Dunn

Faith Dunn, M.D. grew up in Spartanburg, SC. She went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and was drawn to MUSC by the people here and the fantastic training. When she graduates, she will likely pursue a generalist career. In her free time, she enjoys reading, jogging, and enjoying the many Charleston restaurants.

Dr. Madison Morton

Madison Morton, M.D. grew up in Johns Creek, GA. She went to medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and was drawn to MUSC by the comradery of her fellow residents. When she graduates, she would like to pursue a specialty in Urogynecology. In her free time, she enjoys cooking different meals.

Dr. Christine Nguyen

Christine Nguyen, M.D. grew up in Huntsville, AL. She went to medical school at the University of Alabama and was drawn to MUSC by people. She feels that what you see on interview day is actually what you get in the program. When she graduates, she is leaning toward a generalist career. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants with her co-residents, reading and trying new recipes.

Dr. Kaleigh Olmsted

Kaleigh Olmsted, M.D. grew up in Woodland, TX. She went to medical school at McGovern University and was drawn to MUSC by the support of her fellow residents. When she graduates, she would like to specialize in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the area and cooking.

Dr. Amber Priester

Amber Priester, M.D. grew up in Supply, NC. She went to medical school at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and was drawn to MUSC by the volume and acuity of training, but the people sold her. When she graduates, she is leaning towards Maternal Fetal Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants and going to the beach.

Dr. Evey Adams

Evey Adams, M.D. grew up in Charleston, SC. She went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and was drawn to MUSC by the level of patient care. When she graduates, she plans to specialize in Maternal Fetal Medicine or as a Laborist. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, swimming, fitness classes and walking downtown.

Stephanie Alu, M.D. grew up in Johnson City, TN. She went to medical school at East Tennessee State University and was drawn to MUSC by the training of high volume, high acuity patients. When she graduates, she may pursue a career in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. In her free time, she loves to read, go out for Sunday brunch, local shows and game nights.

Dr. Noa Farou

Noa Farou, M.D. grew up in Chtaura, Lebanon and Katy, TX. She went to medical school at Penn State University and was drawn to MUSC by the surgical subspecialty training, high acuity patient population and close to family. When she graduates, she would like a mix of rural, global, and Indigenous women’s health care. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, traveling, sports and trying new restaurants.

Dr. Olivia Obot

Olivia Obot, M.D. grew up in Hammond, LA. She went to medical school at Louisiana State University and was drawn to MUSC by the faculty and fellow residents. When she graduates, she plans to specialize in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking and reading.

Dr. James Tucker

James Tucker, M.D. grew up in Dartmouth, MA. He went to medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, and was drawn to MUSC by the people, program and city. He is still deciding what he would like to do when he graduates but will likely become a generalist. In his free time, he enjoys sailing or enjoying the water on his boat.

Dr. Annika Oosbree

Annika Van Oosbree, M.D. grew up in Maple Grove, MN. She went to medical school at the University of South Dakota and was drawn to MUSC by the MFM program, research opportunities and patient population. When she graduates, she plans to go into Maternal Fetal Medicine and nonprofit work for Women's Health. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach.

Dr. Natalia Aristizabal

Natalia Aristizabal, M.D. grew up in Alpharetta, GA. She went to medical school at University of Alabama at Birmingham and was drawn to MUSC by the people, a good program and surgical exposure. When she graduates, she may become a generalist with subspecialties. In her free time, she enjoys going to coffee shops, reading, and outdoor activities.

Jamison "Jami" Lee, M.D. grew up in Spartanburg, SC. He went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and was drawn to MUSC by the program and the close-knit relationships that keep it so strong. He is looking forward to exploring options in the program to see where he would like to specialize when he graduates. In his free time, he enjoys eating at restaurants, and going to the beach.

Michaela Lee, M.D. grew up in Dallas, TX. She went to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center and was drawn to MUSC by the supportive, passionate, and inspiring people. When she graduates, she plans to specialize in Maternal Fetal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Charleston and traveling.

Dr. Lizzy Manguso

Elizabeth "Lizzy" Manguso, M.D., MPH grew up in Pueblo County, CO. She went to medical school at Emory University and was drawn to MUSC by the faculty and exposure to various subspecialties. When she graduates, she is interested in either academic family planning or MFM. In her free time, she enjoys riding her bike, being outside, reading and yoga.

Dr. Celine Marlin-Andrews

Celine Marlin-Andrews, M.D. grew up in Valley Forge, PA. She went to medical school at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicina and was drawn to MUSC by the faculty and fellow residents. When she graduates, she plans to specialize in Obstetrics. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two dogs and horse.

Dr. Kelly Rutherford

Kelly Rutherford, M.D. grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and was drawn to MUSC by the people and opportunity to work with a diverse population in a high need state. When she graduates, she may join a fellowship or work in academia. In her free time, she enjoys being outside, great food, audiobooks, podcasts and coffee.
