Application Requirements
Required materials must be submitted via the ERAS system only. The following materials must be submitted before the applicant is invited for an interview:
- Completed Application
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): account for any gaps in education or work experience
- Personal Statement
- Dean’s Letter from Medical School.
- A minimum of three (3) Letters of Recommendation: One of the three required letters must be from a PM&R physician. In accordance with the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) best practice guidelines, a standard letter of evaluation (SLOE) from a PM&R physician is strongly encouraged.
- USMLE or COMLEX Scores: Step 1 Pass is required, Step 2 strongly encouraged.
Our program will participate in the ERAS Supplemental application and Preference Signaling. Completion of the supplemental ERAS application is optional; we are reviewing all applications regardless of Supplemental Application content or Preference Signaling. The additional information collected by the supplemental application will help our program learn more about the applicants’ background and will improve our ability to identify suitable candidates who embody our program’s core values.
Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted via the email address on their application in ERAS.
International Medical Graduates
International Medical Graduates are welcome to apply. Graduation from a school that is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is required. Applicants must have a completed ERAS file that includes all the information listed above. The process for VISA application and determination will be completed in accordance with the office of GME and the MUSC Center for Global Health.
