Program Highlights

  • First established Pediatric Rheumatology Program in the state of South Carolina
  • 1 Med/Peds or 1 categorical pediatric fellowship position per year
  •  ACGME accredited since 2010
  • Cohesive/Strong relationship with Adult Rheumatology and Adult Rheumatology Fellowship Program-nationally recognized in med/peds fellowship training
  • Awarded Highly competitive T32 training grant with Adult Rheumatology
  • Two Emeritus Status Physicians who attend fellow’s teaching didactic sessions and provide mentorship support
  • Internationally/Nationally Recognized Research Programs – Lupus and Scleroderma
  • Dr. Ruth is also the Director of Program on Physician Well-Being for the Department of Pediatrics
  • Dr. Gilbert is also the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Pediatrics
  • Dr. Gilbert and Dr. Warren have PhD’s in immunology
  • Track record of successfully mentoring of academic pediatric and med/ped rheumatologists
