Academic Programs

Welcome to the Graduate Training Program in the Department of Public Health Sciences at MUSC. Currently, the Department offers graduate training leading to MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. We also offer MPH degrees in three concentration areas (Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Health Behavior and Health Promotion). Additionally, our Department and Clemson University have partnered to offer students an accelerated pathway to earn an undergraduate degree from Clemson and an MPH from MUSC or a joint MS or Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Data Science and Informatics. Our graduate programs are committed to high quality interdisciplinary training that provides the skills and expertise that you need to be successful in your career.

Our program prepares students to succeed in their careers as public health researchers. Past Ph.D. graduates from our Department have faculty jobs within major universities and senior positions in government and industry. DPHS is right in the heart of downtown Charleston, a historic city with charming architecture, great restaurants, numerous museums, mild climate, nearby beaches, and a variety of outdoor activities that graduate students enjoy in their free time.
