Gender & Cannabis Use Research Study

Observational Research Study for Individuals 18+

Individuals (ages 18+) who would like to reduce their cannabis use will be enrolled in an 8-week treatment program. All participants will receive counseling (1 goals session with a therapist followed by 7 weekly computerized cognitive-behavioral therapy session). In total, the study consists of 11 visits. Compensation up to $795 is available.

Cannabidiol (CBD) for Youth Alcohol Use Research Study

Treatment Research Study for Individuals Aged 16 to 22

The purpose of this research study was to test cannabidiol (CBD) as a possible medication to treat alcohol use. Individuals between the ages of 16 to 22 received one dose of CBD (600mg) or placebo (i.e., sugar water) before two different MRI sessions (separated by approximately two weeks) to see how CBD affects the brain. The full study lasted approximately six weeks. Compensation up to $385 was available.

NAC for Youth Alcohol Use Research Study

Treatment Research Study for Individuals 13 to 25

The purpose of this study is to determine if the over-the-counter supplement N-acetylcysteine (NAC), when combined with weekly counseling, is effective in helping young people ages 13 to 25 reduce or stop using alcohol. The study includes 12 visits over six months (initial assessment, weekly treatment visits for eight weeks, and occasional visits for follow-up afterward). Each visit includes direct contact with a medical clinician. Compensation up to $600 is available.

NAC for Youth Cannabis Use Research Study

Treatment Research Study for Individuals 13 to 25

The study includes 16 visits over 6 months (initial assessment, weekly treatment visits for 12 weeks, and occasional visits for follow-up afterward). Each visit includes direct contact with a medical clinician. Compensation up to $740 is available.
