Surgical oncologists play a crucial role in cancer care, providing the most effective opportunity to cure malignancies and serving as cancer gatekeepers by contributing to the diagnosis, staging, and multidisciplinary treatment. Our faculty members are affiliated with the Hollings Cancer Center, the sole National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center in the state. We prioritize timely access and high-quality, patient-centered care.
We treat patients of all ages including pregnant patients. We are actively engaged in basic, translational, and clinical research, advancing minimally invasive and innovative surgical techniques that enhance precision and minimize recovery time. Additionally, we are dedicated to educating medical students and residents in evidence-based oncologic care.
