PRIME Pathways for High School Students

Start Exploring Your Path to Medicine

You do not have to wait until college to start exploring a career as a physician. PRIME offers opportunities for high school students to learn about medicine, connect with current medical students, experience the MUSC College of Medicine, and get guidance on preparing for the journey ahead.

Medicine Exploration & Discovery Immersion on Campus (MEDIC)

MEDIC is a full-day immersive experience at MUSC that gives high school students an inside look at medical education. Led by current medical students, participants may explore simulation centers, anatomy, campus resources, pre-med advising, student panels, and more.

Student Mentors and Mentees in Medicine (SM3)

SM3 connects students interested in medicine with current MUSC medical students for mentorship, guidance, and an inside look at the medical student experience. Mentees participate in programming throughout the year designed to help them explore medicine and prepare for their next steps.

Targeted Advising, Recruitment, and Programming (TARP)

TARP provides individualized advising for students interested in becoming physicians. Through virtual one-on-one meetings with a PRIME advisor, students receive guidance based on where they are in their educational journey and leave each session with an action plan and resources for moving forward.
