Pathways for Undergraduate Students

Prepare for Your Journey to Medical School

Whether you are beginning to explore medicine or preparing for the medical school application process, PRIME offers programs to help you build connections, gain experience, and make informed decisions as you work toward becoming a physician.

Student Mentors & Mentees in Medicine (SM3)

SM3 pairs students interested in medicine with current MUSC medical students who can offer mentorship, perspective, and encouragement throughout the pre-med journey. Programming throughout the year also helps mentees learn more about medical school and prepare for the application process.

TARP: Targeted Advising, Recruitment, and Programming

TARP offers individualized virtual advising based on each student's current needs. Sessions may focus on academics, pre-med experiences, MCAT preparation, application planning, or other areas that can help students continue making progress toward medical school.

MEDIC: Medicine Exploration & Discovery Immersion on Campus

Spend a day experiencing medical education at MUSC. MEDIC gives college students opportunities to interact with current medical students, explore medical education and simulation spaces, learn about the admissions journey, and discover resources available to support future medical school applicants.

Summer Medicine Academy

The Summer Medicine Academy is a free, week-long residential program for college students offered in partnership with AHEC. Through educational activities, exposure to medical environments, and interaction with physicians and medical students, participants explore their interest in medicine and gain greater insight into the medical profession.
