Apply to a Program

The Department of Pediatrics Residency Programs participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All applications are accepted exclusively through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Application Procedures and Guidelines

  • Submit your application once ERAS opens, applications received by the MSPE release date are given priority consideration for interviews
  • Interviews will be held during November, December, and January
  • Interviews are typically scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the exception of holidays

Interview Selection Assessment Criteria

  • Completed ERAS application
  • MSPE
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Two strong letters of recommendation (we do not require a Chair letter)
  • Personal Statement
  • Research Experience

Applications for Foreign Medical Graduates

Requirements for foreign medical graduates include the same criteria as listed above plus the following:

  • Only applications received through ERAS will be considered
  • Medical school graduation within the past two years (unless already enrolled/completed domestic residency program)
  • Excellent communication in English - both written and verbal
  • USMLE Step I
  • Our program only accepts J1 visa 
  • Must be ECFMG Certified prior to rank deadline
  • Additional materials may be required

To be ranked after interview

  • Have met the above requirements
  • Have taken and passed USMLE Step 2 and/or COMLEX 2
  • Be registered with the NRMP
