Med-Peds Residency

Meet some of our wonderful team!

The MUSC Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program combines two outstanding programs to provide our residents with a robust clinical experience that exposes them to every sub-specialty with an emphasis on primary care. Upon completion of the program, residents are eligible for board certification in both internal medicine and pediatrics. Graduates may elect to enter community practice, academic primary care, hospital medicine, or specialty fellowship training in either or both disciplines.

Please continue to explore our site for additional information specific to our program and do not hesitate to be in touch with questions.

Message from Program Director

Welcome to MUSC Med-Peds and thank you for your interest! Our program accepted its first resident in 1999 and has since graduated outstanding Med-Peds physicians who have chosen careers in primary care, hospital medicine, adult, pediatric, and combined specialties. Our program offers many opportunities for state-of-the-art patient care in an outstanding medical facility that is ranked #1 in South Carolina by U.S. News and World Report, with multiple pediatric and adult specialties ranked in the top 50 nationally! We are excited to offer continuity clinic in our wonderful Med-Peds clinic where residents experience incredible primary care training from Med-Peds trained faculty!

Heading into another year of recruitment, our goal is to ensure that our applicants can appreciate our values as a program and what truly makes us unique, in both our curriculum and our people, whom we consider our greatest strength. Our residents are accomplished in all facets of medicine including patient care, teaching, and research. They demonstrate leadership within our Med-Peds program, the categorical programs, and across the institution. They receive mentorship from an amazing group of Med-Peds trained faculty who support them both academically and personally.

As program leadership, we have strived to create a warm and welcome environment in which our Med-Peds residents thrive within the categorical departments but also have numerous opportunities to demonstrate how Med-Peds is unique and valuable. We are proud of our solid Med-Peds identity at MUSC, and our residents develop close, supportive bonds that last a lifetime.

We encourage you to review our information and contact us with any questions. We also invite you to explore our beautiful City of Charleston, take a moment and tour Charleston with one of our local favorites, Darius Rucker. With great food, amazing culture, and beautiful beaches, it is easy to see why Charleston is a fantastic place to work and live!

We welcome any questions you may have. We love to discuss our program and Med-Peds!

Warm Regards,
