When I rotated here in my 4th year I found a program where everyone genuinely enjoyed being around each other from the residents to the attendings to the support staff. Also this program has world-renowned faculty who also happen to be some of the kindest, most approachable people I have ever met.

Why I chose MUSC: After rotating, MUSC felt like the perfect match for me because the program has such phenomenal faculty truly dedicated to resident education. In addition to top-notch training, the atmosphere of the program is collegial and so much fun! The residency feels like a family!  Plus, Charleston is such a fun and beautiful place to live!

Why I chose MUSC: The dermatology department at MUSC has a reputation for workplace excellence. During my interview, I was able to see the friendly environment with happy residents andsupportive faculty members and staff. It was obvious that the residents have a great sense of comradery; the faculty are incredibly approachable and enthusiastic about teaching and ensuring the success of every resident. On top of that, Charleston is such a beautiful city to live in!

Why I chose MUSC: MUSC's Dermatology program is strong in all areas of dermatology.  We receive excellent training in dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology, surgical dermatology, cosmetics, and medical dermatology. Regardless of my ultimate practice, I feel confident I will be prepared for my future career in the field.   I also value the collegial environment within the department.  While expectations are high and many of our faculty are nationally and internationally renowned, I have always felt comfortable asking questions.  Moreover, all of this is located in the wonderful city of Charleston, SC!

Why I chose MUSC: The people here have become family and the city has become home. As a group of residents, we honestly value one another, support one another, and truly enjoy working with one another. We have all-star faculty who are compassionate clinicians, brilliant educators, and supportive mentors.  We get to work in a variety of settings including the main university clinic, several satellite clinics, and the VA. We also get tons of hands on surgical/procedural experience from the very beginning! I cannot imagine being anywhere else!

Dermatologic interests: Everything! I love that we have thorough and well-balanced training in general dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetics procedures.

Why I chose MUSC: when I rotated at MUSC as a student, I recognized the camaraderie amongst the residents almost immediately. I knew I wanted to be a part of such a close-knit program. The faculty are all strong educators who are very involved in resident education. They also encourage residents to take ownership of our patients; this autonomy has helped me grow both professionally and personally. I know that when I graduate residency I will be experienced in all aspects of Dermatology including medical/general derm, derm path, Peds, cosmetics, and surgery. I also know that I will have had a memorable 3 years with my fellow coworkers who I call friends, living in such an amazing city. I look forward to going to work every day and am so grateful that I matched at MUSC!

Why I chose MUSC: After completing a pediatric residency at a chief year at MUSC I have deep respect for this institution and wanted to further my training. MUSC is a large pediatric specialty referral center for the state of South Carolina and surrounding region with faculty who are dedicated to resident education. It is great hospital for working and city for living!
