Do you accept applications from D.O. candidates?
Yes, we will review any D.O. candidate and offer an interview if the candidate meets the department's requirements.

Do you accept applications from foreign medical graduates?
Yes, the university accepts FMG's. J-1 (requires Step 1 and 2, and CSA); find additional visa information here.

Do you require Step 2 examination prior to accepting an application?
No. Candidates may apply to the program prior to receiving Step 2 results. However, upon receiving results, please upload to ERAS or email to Lisa Kynoski at kynoski@musc.edu.

When is your deadline for receiving applications?
The deadline for applications is October 26, 2020. To facilitate review of all applications prior to the November 6, 2020 interview offer date set by the Society of Academic Urologists in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications are not reviewed unless they are complete (including ERAS application, USMLE Scores, Medical School transcripts, personal statement, letters of recommendation, Dean's letter).

When do you hold your interviews?
Interviews are typically held within the first two weeks of November. Selected candidates are sent a detailed email with the interview dates. Choice of interview time slots is a first-come first-served process, geared toward making sure all invited candidates are able to find a time to interview with us.

NOTE: The 2021 Match interview policies will require an adjustment to these dates, please check back for updates.

How do you conduct your interviews?
Typically interviews are held in-person on the MUSC campus, with interviewees meeting with all faculty and residents, with a social event the night before. The interviews for the 2021 Match will be held virtually.

How can I get an application?
The Department of Urology accepts applications only through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Email Lisa Kynoski at kynoski@musc.edu for more information.
