Presented by the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Office of Continuing Education

The Judges and Attorneys Substance Abuse and Ethics Seminar brings together legal and clinical experts to present the latest information on substance abuse and related mental health problems and addresses how the legal system responds to those issues. In 1983, John H. Magill, the founding CEO of Fenwick Hall Hospital, began the tradition of holding the annual seminar. For more than 30 years, Magill and Capers Barr, III, Esq., have co-chaired the planning committee and served as conference chairs. Many of the attorneys and judges on the original planning committees continue to serve. The Department of Mental Health, MUSC, and the South Carolina Bar Association sponsor this educational event.
