Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

Welcome! On behalf of the Child and Adolescent Division in MUSC’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences I would like to thank you for taking an interest into our program here in Charleston! Having trained here myself in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, I fully believe that there is no better place in America to continue your Child and Adolescent training. Our combination of diverse patient population, outstanding clinical faculty, and beautiful setting make MUSC second to none in overall training experience.

The Child and Adolescent Division’s catchment area is the entire state of SC, making our clinical population extremely diverse in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and pathology. We possess the largest acute inpatient unit in the state, and our outpatient clinics allow fellows to work with supervisors, general residents, PhDs, and LISWs each day.

Our award-winning faculty is made up of expert clinicians who have excelled both institutionally and nationally in education, research, and administration. They have won K12 awards, been nominated for Ginsberg educational fellowships, been PI’s on NIH sponsored grants, been featured on radio and television, and have won College of Medicine teaching awards many times over. One of our former faculty members was even the Dean of the College of Medicine!

With all our program has to offer, there is nothing more impressive than our internationally recognized locale. Charleston is a gem of a city and for the last 5 years has been in the top 5 world destinations according to Conde Nast Traveler (taking the #1 spot in 2013, 2015, and 2016). It is a culinary paradise, an arts Mecca, and an outdoor lover’s dream. Hopefully you will have the weekend here to enjoy exploring!

Thank you again for coming. We are excited to have you and hope you will consider Charleston and MUSC for your new home.
