STAR Subawards

STAR is committed to supporting the research of its subsites and furthering the field of neuroendovascular surgery. To this end, STAR accepts proposals for pilot projects beyond providing statistical support for potential publications and provides funding to participating subsites via a subaward mechanism. Below, please find instructions and details related to the submission of these project proposals.

To initiate a project, please send an email detailing the project to Crystal Nance, STAR Program Coordinator (nancecr@musc.edu). In this email, please explain the project's goals, research strategy, and needs from STAR. After review by the STAR Scientific Steering Committee, further revision may be requested, or an outright approval or denial may be delivered. Feedback for proposals is provided on a case-by-case basis.

STAR will provide funding up to $25,000 for research proposals that have high potential for scientific or translational advancement of the field of neuroendovascular surgery. In addition, projects must in some way be related to the STAR registry or network. STAR reserves the right to deny projects based on availability of funding, lack of scientific merit, or feasibility. STAR does not provide funding for indirect costs/overhead due to the variable nature of institutional costs and the limited amount of funding available for subaward support.

For questions related to subaward support, please contact Crystal Nance, 843-792-2531, nancecr@musc.edu.
