Fellowship Program

The MUSC Fellowship Program offers a robust educational curriculum encompassing all content areas within the fields of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine. This is accomplished through different educational experiences primarily within the noon conference lecture series including but not limited to: didactic lectures, case-based conferences, pulmonary and critical care grand rounds, journal clubs, research presentations, career development seminars and simulation courses. Faculty are highly invested and involved in the education of the fellows and attend conferences regularly.

Additionally, fellows have ample opportunity for self-directed learning with access to the Colbert Education Library and access to online medical resources including texts and medical journals.

The fellowship actively participates in ABIM Board preparation for both Pulmonary and Critical Care Exams and offers yearly in-service exam days for test preparation.

Clinical training occurs at the MUSC Medical Center, which includes Main Hospital, Ashley River Tower, and the nearby Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Ambulatory training is also available at the Hollings Cancer Center and MUSC outreach clinics in North Charleston and Mount Pleasant.

We will have a one year Critical Care Fellowship position available starting in 2020, for ABIM Critical Care certification. Please contact Sophia Zimmermann or Lynn Schnapp, M.D., for more information.
