Want EMPOWERR to come to you? 

If you are interested in having EMPOWERR table at an event you are hosting, provide a training, or facilitate a program, please fill out our request for services form here.

Referrals to specific EMPOWERR services (such as Family Tree or FIRRE) should be made through their direct links listed on our prevention or treatment services pages.

Want to Volunteer or Intern? 

Our internship is a great opportunity for anyone seeking a career in public health, psychology, social work, or any community facing fields. An EMPOWERR internship is incredibly interactive, and implementation focused. Interns collaborate to prepare for and deliver evidence-based interventions as well as participating in health promotion efforts through events and activities in the community. The ideal EMPOWERR intern is willing and ready to take the knowledge from their education and practice real world application of these principles.  

 

Duties included in an EMPOWERR internship: 

• All of our interns are involved in working alongside the Program Coordinator and Health Educator to: 
  • Create social media campaigns and posts 
  • Participate in outreach and tabling events 
  • Observe and co-facilitate evidence-based health education programs 
  • Provide transportation for participants to and from programming 
  • Create, adapt, and prepare materials for program facilitation 
• Each intern will have a project specific to them that they are able to take ownership of. This project will be something concrete that will benefit the EMPOWERR Program while also leaning on skills and knowledge that are specific to their degree and experience. Examples of previous projects include: 
  • Expanding EMPOWERR programming into a specific area/partner organization 
  • Updating curriculum to maintain cultural relevancy 
  • Increasing caregiver-youth-serving professional engagement in teen risk reduction
