Space & Resources

The Addiction Sciences Division occupies two floors within the Institute of Psychiatry (IOP) and additional space in the Roper Medical Office Building. We occupy two spaces in Gazes as well as one space in Hollings Cancer Center. Within the IOP, there are two additional floors with extensive basic research laboratories. All basic science research laboratories have access to shared equipment and resources such as ultra-low freezers, centrifuges, scintillation counters, and cold, warm, light-controlled and tissue culture rooms.

There is a clinical bar laboratory and a nicotine cue-exposure laboratory to study craving and medication effects on craving in humans, clinical research space, and interview and therapy rooms to accommodate a vibrant front-line treatment program for individuals suffering from addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs.
