Call for Speakers

This year's title is Advancing Practice: Ethics, Evidence, and Innovation in Social Work. This program aims to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among social workers, highlighting effective strategies, interventions, and approaches that have made a positive impact in the field. The conference will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026, and will be hybrid (virtual and in-person). All speakers are required to present in person at the conference in Charleston, South Carolina on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Topics of Interest: We are particularly interested in presentations that cover, but are not limited to:
Ethics
Trauma and trauma informed care
Substance use and addiction
Clinical interventions and evidence-based therapies
Suicide prevention and mental health

Submission Guidelines: Please submit your proposal by 5:00 p.m. July 23, 2026. Proposals must include:
Session title
Abstract (150-300 words)
Three (3) learning objectives
Speaker bio with credentials
Speaker's professional experience related to the topic
Relevance to current social work practice
Identification of whether the session fits a priority topic area
Note: A social worker must be the presenter or co-presenter
Note: Presentations MUST cover a minimum of 54 minutes

Fall 2026 Conference Credit

The South Carolina Board of Examiners in Psychology will approve (tbd) Category A credits.

The South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners will approve approximately (tbd) hours of designated credit.

The South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists will approve (tbd) hours of continuing education credit.

Please Note - No refunds will be offered 30 days before the conference date. Registrations are transferable, but are subject to a $25 transfer fee. Please email us for more details on how to transfer your registration. Cancellation requests will be subject to a $25 administrative fee and need to be emailed to psych-events@musc.edu. If you do not receive a payment confirmation email within two weeks of registering for this event, please email us at psych-events@musc.edu to ensure your registration and payment have been received. Registration fee includes materials and credit processing. All paid virtual registrations will receive details on how to access the online conference platform approximately one week before the conference date.
