Ways to Support MUSC Psychiatry

Did you know that whether it is anxiety, PTSD, depression or serious mental illness, 1 in 5 adults in America will face mental health issues? Of those affected by mental illness, nearly 60 percent will go untreated.

A beacon of hope and light in the Lowcountry, MUSC's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and the Institute of Psychiatry are dedicated to treating each patient that walks through our door with the utmost compassion and respect. Mental illness, like any other medical condition, is a challenging battle that we are committed to helping people overcome.

Let's take a stance and shine a light on the importance of mental health. With your help we can change what's possible through increasing access to treatment, educating more Health care providers and conducting further cutting-edge research. There are several ways to support us, listed below. I look forward to connecting with you.

Graciously,

Melissa E. Milanak, Ph.D.

Ways to Support MUSC Psychiatry

Support

Giving online is easy, fast, and secure. You can make your online gift using your credit/debit card. Please note, MUSC's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Every gift of any size truly makes a difference and allows us to change what’s possible here at MUSC.

Gift-in-Kind

Gift-in-kind, or GIK, is a type of charitable giving in which contributions take the form of tangible goods rather than money — whether that be art supplies, clothing and games — contributions large and small continue to make a difference.  Please visit our Wish Lists for our in-patient program and our STAR program for more details.

Third Party Fundraisers

Starting a fundraising event is an easy way to support the MUSC Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department. Dedicate your birthday, celebrate a milestone, host a lemonade stand, bake sale, dance marathon, golf or fishing tournament – get creative and plan your own event to support MUSC. Before you begin planning, please read our third-party fundraising guidelines. Please submit your completed application before you start promoting your event. We will contact you within five business days regarding your application status or contact us with any questions.
