On June 1, the Department of Medicine held our virtual Department of Medicine Awards Ceremony honoring our outstanding achievements in education, patient care, and research by medicine faculty, trainees, and staff during the past year. We always look forward to this particular event as it is an exciting time to acknowledge well-deserving individuals within our department and to bring visibility to their distinguished work.

FELLOW AWARDS

Fellow of the Year: Awarded to the Department of Medicine fellow who has demonstrated the most dedication to teaching residents this year. Selected by residents.

APP in Excellence Award: Recognizes an exceptional advance practice provider (APP) who demonstrates leadership by serving as a role model and mentor to his/her peers, demonstrates excellence in their day-to-day work while embodying the values of MUSC and the Department of Medicine, and who has had a significant impact on his/her patients and health care team. 2023 marks the first year that Department of Medicine APPs are being honored with this award at the annual Department of Medicine Awards Day Celebration.
