Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship

Welcome to the Nephrology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Our fellowship is accredited through the American Board of Pediatrics and the ACGME. Our specialized training program is designed to provide and refine knowledge and skills regarding the care of children with all types of renal disease; including hypertension, urinary tract infections, acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome and renal failure. Our fellowship will provide extensive training on children with chronic renal failure and end-stage renal disease. You will be taught by a highly skilled team offering hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and renal transplant.

Notably, our division of nephrology and the division of transplant surgery have established the only multidisciplinary pediatric kidney transplant clinic in the state of South Carolina, which offers care to children who are being evaluated for a kidney transplant as well as those who are post-transplant.  The faculty in our division also maintain membership in the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC). As a fellow you will have the chance to work with a nationwide group of pediatric nephrology care team members.

Fellowship candidates must complete a 3-year residency in Pediatrics. Our Nephrology fellowship is a 3-year program, and we are able to accept one fellow per year. MUSC participates in the NRMP Match. The deadline for completed applications is August 15th and is conducted through ERAS.
