South Carolina Burn Center Team Members Appointed to Prestigious American Burn Association Committees

South Carolina Burn Center (SCBC) team members have been named to several of the American Burn Association (ABA) committees for 2025; each will play pivotal roles in advancing the association’s mission to improve the lives of those affected by burn injuries.

As a leading organization dedicated to improving the care of individuals with burn injuries, the ABA fosters a multidisciplinary approach to burn prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. With the support of expert members from diverse healthcare fields, the ABA works tirelessly to enhance public health, increase access to quality care, and advance burn care research.

Congratulations to the newly appointed MUSC team members are (in alphabetical order):

  • Katie Hollowed, MSN, Burn Program Manager–ABA Economics and Access Committee
  • Steve Kahn, M.D., Chief of Burn Surgery – ABA Economics and Access Committee, Industry Partnership Committee
  • Jenna Kelly, DPT – Lead Burn Therapist, ABA Rehabilitation Committee
  • Rohit Mittal, M.D., Medical Director, Pediatric Burns – ABA BCQP/Registry Committee
  • Rosalee Unwin, MSN, SCBC Outreach Education Coordinator – ABA Prevention Committee

Steven Kahn, M.D., Chief of Burn Surgery, who currently serves on the American Burn Association’s Board of Trustees and as the Program Chair stated, “The new appointments for five of our team members reflect the exceptional work being done at MUSC, where we are not only pushing the boundaries of clinical care but also involved in leading the charge to reshape the landscape of burn treatment and prevention at a local, regional, and national level.”
